Moving to university is an unforgettable moment, and we are ready to welcome you to your new home. Between packing your bags and planning your Welcome Week social calendar, there is one critical task you cannot miss - completing your online registration.
To ensure your transition to university life is as smooth as possible, completing your online registration through NottinghamHub is your priority before arriving on campus.
Why is it so important?
Completing your online registration on time means:
- It unlocks your funding, ensuring your money will be released on time.
- It secures your timetable.
- It gets your university card ready.
- It activates your digital campus life, from your official university email to your Moodle learning modules.
How to get started
Once you have activated your student IT profile, keep a close eye on your personal email for your registration invitation.
- Log into NottinghamHub using the student and staff sign-in button and follow the MFA that you set up when you activated your IT account.
- Use your university email address and password (not your applicant details)
- On the NottinghamHub homepage, click on the 'registration' button and follow the steps to complete your online registration.
Registration must be completed by your registration deadline. If you have not registered by this date or informed us that you wish to defer or withdraw, your record will be closed and you may not be able to join the university.
In-person registration
After you've completed the online registration, you must then attend an in-person registration.
You do not need to complete in-person registration if you are one of the following:
- Returning student
- Part-time student
- Distance-learner
Once you have completed your online and in-person registration, you should receive an email to your university account to confirm that your registration is complete within 24 hours (excluding weekends).
How to get started
How you complete your in-person registration depends on your nationality (not your fee status).
If you are not a British or Irish passport holder and have not already provided documentation regarding EUSS (where relevant), you will be required to provide further documents at registration in order to complete a right to study check.
This means that students who have been granted home fee status may still be asked to show relevant immigration documentation.
Incorrect nationality on your student record:
- If your nationality is listed incorrectly on your student record - for example, you hold a British passport but did not provide it during your application, you'll need to attend in-person registration.
Please follow the steps below, which are relevant to you, to complete your in-person registration:
- When you arrive on campus, you need to log in to our campus Wi-Fi (eduroam) using your university email and password, e/g. username@nottingham.ac.uk format for undergraduate and postgraduate students or firstname.lastname@nottingham.ac.uk format for postgraduate research students.
- This will complete your in-person registration.
- British/Irish students are not required to book an appointment to complete in-person registration.
- Refer to our registration deadlines to see when you must complete in-person registration.
- Complete our online form to provide us with your immigration status share code along with a copy of your current passport.
- If you have given your immigration documents to the university, you can register without needing to attend the in-person registration event. Instead, when you arrive on campus, you can log into our campus wi-fi (eduroam) (see British or Irish students and follow the instructions).
- If we do not have your immigration status documents in time, you may receive instructions via email to book and attend the in-person registration event instead.
Step 1: Send digital evidence of your eVisa
- You will need to ensure you have set up your UKVI account and linked it to your eVisa, so that you can send us digital evidence of your eVisa by completing our Digital Visa Status form as soon as possible before your arrival.
- You will also be asked to generate a share code so that you can view and prove your immigration status to the university. You will need to provide evidence of your date of entry to the UK, such as a boarding pass or e-ticket (if you have applied overseas), and your visa decision email (if you have applied for your visa in the UK).
- The in-person registration event takes place 17-21 September 2026. Appointments for Thurs 17th and Fri 18th September can be booked from 17th August. Further appointments for 20th and 21st September will be made available in due course for those arriving after 18th September.
- If you are arriving after 21st Sept, in-person registration appointments will become available after the above.
- You should check your school induction timetable before booking your appointment to avoid clashes.
- Before attending your appointment, please make sure you have completed Step 1. This can take up to 3 days to process.
- Your original current passport with you (copies, photographs or any other forms of identification cannot be accepted).
- Your boarding pass, or e-ticket if you applied for your visa from overseas. We only need this where there is no 'wet ink' stamp in your passport showing your date of arrival. You can show us a digital document that can be viewed on your phone or device.
Step 1: Send digital evidence of your Visitor eVisa
- If you are a Visa National as indicated on the Gov Nationals List, your visitor will be a digital eVisa.
- You will need to ensure you have set up your UKVI account and linked it to your eVisa, so that you can send us digital evidence of your eVisa by completing our Digital Visa Status form as soon as possible before you arrive.
- We will also ask for evidence of your date of entry to the UK, such as a boarding pass or e-ticket.
- If you are from a country not on the list above and you have permission to travel via the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) Scheme, you do not need to complete this step.
- The in-person registration event takes place 17-21 September. Appointments for Thurs 17th and Fri 18th September can be booked from 17th August. Further appointments for 20th and 21st September will be made available in due course for those arriving after 18th September.
- If you are arriving after 21st September, in-person registration appointments will become available after the above.
- You should check your school induction timetable before booking your appointment to avoid clashes.
- Before attending your appointment, please make sure you have completed Step 1. This can take up to 3 days to process.
- Your original current passport with you (copies, photographs or any other forms of identification cannot be accepted)
We can't wait to welcome you to your university experience. Before you arrive, make sure you check the university checklist to make sure you are fully prepared so you can enjoy your Welcome Week as much as you can!
