(Frequently Asked Questions)

How safe is the accommodation?

Our campus and Halls of Residence are incredibly safe with restricted access to buildings via key cards and 24/7 security on campus at all times. Nottingham City has recently been awarded the distinguished Purple Flag Status. This award signifies that the city is not just a destination for a fantastic night out but also prioritises the safety and wellbeing of its visitors and residents.

How does arrivals work?

For students arriving into on campus catered halls in September 2024, arrivals will be Friday 20 September - Saturday 21 September. Once the Accommodation Induction has been completed, students will receive their key collection pass and have booked their arrivals slot.

For self-catered sites, arrivals instructions will have been sent to students by email from the accommodation provider directly. If you are unsure, you can contact your hall directly to find out more.

Do you provide insurance?

We have partnered with Endsleigh to provide contents insurance for each and every room on campus, at no extra cost. You can find information on what is and isn't covered on our Insurance web pages. Students will need to confirm their cover upon or before arrival.

Living off campus in a partner hall? You may have access to alternative insurance, you can check with your provider directly.

How do we pay fees?

Fees for your accommodation are paid via NottinghamHub, unless you are in a Partner site accommodation site where the fees are paid directly to your accommodation provider. If you are unsure about where your fees should be paid, please contact the accommodation team.

What support is available?

There is plenty of support available for students living on and off campus. You can find support services via your Residential Experience teams in Halls or directly with the Support and Wellbeing Service.

How can I support my children at University?

Keep in touch, let them know they are supported and help encourage them to seek support when they need it. There is no perfect plan for supporting your children at University, but you can find helpful resources online.
