Find out the truth about Clearing at UoN

If you're considering applying to UoN through Clearing this summer, you're not alone. Clearing is a common route for loads of people, and it's nothing to be anxious about. Let's debunk some myths and set the record straight.

Myth 1: "Clearing is only for students who didn't get the grades."

Truth: Clearing isn't just for those who didn't meet their offer conditions. It's also for students who changed their mind about their course or uni, or even those who didn't apply earlier in the year.

Myth 2: "If I apply through Clearing, I won't get a quality education."

Truth: Nottingham is a prestigious Russell Group university, and many students gain entry through Clearing. The quality of education remains the same, regardless of how you enter!

Myth 3: "It's too late to apply through Clearing."

Truth: Clearing opened on the 5 July this year. If you have your results, you can apply immediately.

Myth 4: "The Clearing hotline will be too busy to get through."

Truth: While the hotline can be busy, you can also apply online. The uni assesses online applications just as thoroughly as phone applications.

Myth 5: "I won't get accommodation if I apply through Clearing."

Truth: Students who accept an offer through Clearing by Friday 22 August are guaranteed a place in university-arranged accommodation.

Myth 6: "I'll be looked down upon for coming through Clearing."

Truth: Not at all. Students come from various backgrounds and circumstances, and that's what makes the community diverse and welcoming. If you come to Nottingham through Clearing, nobody will know unless you tell them (and if you do, they won’t care anyway!).

Clearing is a great opportunity to find the right course and uni for you. So, if you're considering applying through Clearing, don't hesitate. You've got this!
