Join ResX for a special night at Nottingham Theatre Royal as Ballet Black celebrates an incredible 25 years of creating bold, powerful and original ballet.

For a quarter of a century, Ballet Black has challenged expectations, opened doors and brought new voices and stories to the world of ballet. This anniversary programme looks back at some of the company's most powerful work while celebrating where it's heading next.

🌍 Two performances. Two very different stories.

The evening features a spectacular double bill, combining powerful storytelling, incredible choreography and global influences.

🔥 Ingoma – Inspired by the 1946 South African miners' strike, Ingoma explores the strength, resilience and struggles of Black miners and their communities. Created by former Ballet Black dancer Mthuthuzeli November, the piece brings a rarely told story to the ballet stage and has won both an Olivier Award and Black British Theatre Award for Best Dance Production.

✨ …all towards hope – Created by acclaimed American choreographer Hope Boykin, this joyful new work celebrates Ballet Black's 25-year journey and looks towards its future. Expect vibrant movement, energy and a celebration of everything that makes Ballet Black unique.

🕖 Meet a member of ResX outside Nottingham Theatre Royal at 7pm.

We'll have your tickets with us, so simply meet us outside the theatre and we'll get you sorted before the performance.

 Although the session is FREE, places are limited and we want to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to take part. (Price does not include any spending money at the Christmas Market)

If you book a place but can no longer attend, you must cancel through UniHub at least 48 hours before the session.

Failure to cancel within 24 hours, or simply not turning up, will result in a £30 charge.
