An incredible multi-instrumentalist from The Gambia, bringing the sounds of the kora (a 22-string West African harp-lute) and the rich traditions of the Griot storytellers.

Michelle "Mother" Hubbard

Djembe drumming and powerful spoken word poetry. She is the co-founder of Blackdrop spoken word event, one of the longest running open mic nights in the East Midlands. Her work appears in numerous anthologies, and she has two collections of self published poetry (The Tapestry of a Black Woman and The Irish-Jamaican). Passionate about the written and spoken word, and its capacity to join and connect us all, human to human, on a deeper level.
