Explore your surroundings while engaging in simple, mindful

Join us for Traces of Spaces, a creative zine-making walk led by artist Amelia Daiz. Explore your surroundings while engaging in simple, mindful art activities that promote relaxation and boost your wellbeing.

Important Info: This is an outdoor walk, so please dress appropriately for the weather, including comfortable shoes. In the event of heavy rain, we’ll move the activity indoors to continue the creative fun.

What’s in Store:

  • Zine Creation: Learn how to fold a simple zine (mini-magazine) and fill each page with creative activities like drawing, leaf printing, photography, and poetry as you walk.
  • Mindfulness Through Art: Discover how creative practices can help reduce stress and promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Take Home Your Zine: By the end of the walk, you'll have a completed zine capturing your reflections and creativity.

How Art Therapy Helps Wellbeing: Creative activities like drawing and writing are known to reduce anxiety, encourage self-expression, and provide a sense of accomplishment. Art therapy is a proven way to manage stress and promote relaxation. This walk will introduce you to enjoyable, simple ways to incorporate these techniques into your daily life for ongoing mental wellbeing.

About the Artist: Amelia Daiz is a socially engaged artist passionate about using creativity to improve wellbeing. As the founder of "Meanderers," she runs social and creative walks across Nottingham, combining art, poetry, and nature to boost mental health.
