Exam stress can creep in before you even open a textbook, and often your environment plays a big role in how focused (or frazzled) you feel.
At Student Living, we want to help you feel calm, confident, and comfortable in your space, especially during exam season.
Here’s how to make your hall a revision-friendly zone — and where to turn if you need a boost:
Tidy space = tidy mind
It’s a cliché for a reason. Even a five-minute room reset, such as making your bed, clearing mugs, or wiping your desk, can help clear mental clutter too.
If your flat’s feeling chaotic, take a moment to step away and reset in a shared study area or social space.
Stick to a study-friendly routine
Structure is your best friend during exams.
Pick a time of day when you’re naturally focused, and try to work in blocks (with breaks). Whether you're revising in your room, the common area, or heading to a campus study space, keeping a rhythm helps you stay in control.
Talk to your flatmates
Let them know your exam schedule and ask about theirs too. You can support each other by being mindful of noise, celebrating small wins, or even planning a post-exam treat together.
If tensions rise, your Wellbeing Team are always there to help mediate and support.
Use your hall perks
Don’t forget you’ve got more than just a room.
Need to let off steam? Head to the gym or an outdoor space on campus. Want a change of scene? Book a quiet corner in a study zone or head to an event, most of them are free!
We’re here to help make life easier.
Come and chat if you need more support
Feeling overwhelmed? It’s okay. Your Student Living team is always around for a chat, whether it’s about your studies, your wellbeing, or just needing someone to listen.
We’ll point you in the right direction for anything you need.
