Mondays aren't many people's favourite day, but the one at the bottom of the pile is Blue Monday. Falling on the third Monday of January, it is often labelled as the year's most melancholic day. The combination of dreary weather, post-holiday sadness, and faltering New Year's resolutions contribute to a general feeling of gloom.
That being said, none of this is actually scientifically proven and feeling down can really come at any time... but have no fear, as music can be a great therapeutic tool! For a lift in spirits or a way to express your emotions, consider these playlists for some solace during Blue Monday:
The 'start your day right' playlist
The 'upbeat exercise' playlist
The 'cry it out' playlist
The 'mindfulness and chill' playlist
The 'just let me sleep through it' playlist
Remember, it's okay to feel down, but if those feelings persist, it's important to reach out for support. You can contact ResX directly on 0115 748 7600, or email us at resx@nottingham.ac.uk.
