Explore the delicious delights of campus catering

One of the perks of being a student is having access to a variety of catering outlets on campus. Whether you need a snack to keep you going or a meal to share with your mates, these foodie destinations have something for everyone.

The University has cafes and bars on three main campuses: University Park, Jubilee Campus, and Sutton Bonington. There are also cafes in the Medical School and at the Nottingham Lakeside Arts.

University Park

On University Park, there are 16 cafes and bars, offering a variety of food and drink options, from sandwiches and salads to hot meals and snacks. Some of the cafes and bars are located in halls of residence, such as Cavendish Cafe, Echo@Derby, and Hops at Lenton & Wortley.

Others are situated in academic buildings, such as Coates Cafe, Trent café, and Monica Partridge Pod.

There are cafes in the libraries, such as George Green Library Cafe and Hallward Library Cafe. The University also has two campus bars, Hops@Lenton and Echo@Derby, where you can enjoy a drink with your mates.

Jubilee Campus

On Jubilee Campus, there are four cafes, serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, salads, cakes, and pastries. The cafes are Aspire Cafe, Terrazzo Café, Atrium, and SNG.

They are all located in the main buildings of the campus, such as the Amenities building, Exchange building, and the Advanced Manufacturing building.

Kosher on campus

This year we are delighted to be able to offer kosher food to our Jewish students in our Halls of Residence as part of our expanding food options.

Partnering with the local Chabad of Nottingham, Rabbi Mendy and his wife Brocha, who have set up a commercial kitchen on their home grounds.  Mike Lear (Food and Beverage Manager) along with Chefs Matthew Carroll and Ashley Collishaw are working with Brocha’s recipes and preparing Kosher food once a week for our Halls.

We hope to be able to expand the Kosha food offer to the PuriTea concept on the Portland Food court. PuriTea is our new in-house brand offering delicious speciality hot and cold teas.  We were runners up in the UK Udine Food Awards with PuriTea, that also sells freshly decorated Do’Nuts, homemade subs, salads and a selection of Kosher retail lines.  Our next step will be to introduce some of Brocha’s Kosher recipes at PuriTea.

Nottingham Lakeside Arts

At the Nottingham Lakeside Arts, there is one cafe, called Gallery Cafe. It serves hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, salads, soups, cakes, and scones.

It is located in the Nottingham Lakeside Arts Centre, which is a public arts centre on University Park Campus.
