Indoor, outdoor and everything in between for any workout

Did you know that the University of Nottingham won 'Sports University of the Year' last year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide and the Daily Mail University Guide? 

So it's no surprise that there's plenty of sports facilities on campus, just steps from your lectures and halls. Let's check them out...

David Ross Sports Village

📍University Park Campus

A £40 million facility, here you can find world-class fitness facilities under one roof. It has the largest sports hall and one of only four all-glass squash courts in the country. Not to mention the archery, fencing and table tennis salle, 60m sprint track, 25m swimming pool, climbing wall and even a martial arts dojo. 

Jubilee Sports Centre

📍Jubilee Campus

Located near the Queen's Medical Centre, this sports centre is in the centre of campus making it easy to get to wherever you are. Looking for a versatile fitness suite? Jubilee sports centre has 100 stations and houses top of the range training equipment, perfect for cardio lovers and heavy lifters. 

It also has a bespoke spin studio, a sports hall with 8 badminton courts, a squash court, functional training room and outdoor spaces too.

Sutton Bonington Sports Centre

📍Sutton Bonington Campus

Available to students, staff, alumni and the community, this centre is home to lots of student sports clubs. Check this centre out for indoor facilities like the sports hall, 2 squash courts and a bouldering wall. The highlight is definitely the outdoor sections, which include a 3G artificial floodlight pitch, grass football pitch, grass rugby pitch, tennis courts and a netball court. 

Highfield Sports Complex

📍University Park Campus

A flexible outdoor venue perfect for football, rugby, hockey and beach volleyball. It also has two pavilions, the first built in 1925 making it one of the university's oldest buildings, the other opened by England rugby legend and Nottingham alumnus Brian Moore!

Located next to the Highfield complex you can also find Nottingham Hockey Centre, home to an international-standard water-based hockey pitch owned by the university.

Riverside Sports Complex

📍Near University Park Campus

With over 150 acres of grass sports fields, this is the home of football, rugby and cricket – just a short drive away from the Highfields Sports Complex. It's also hosted some top national events like the Premier League's ACES event.  

Outdoor Gyms: The Active Trail

📍Around University Park Campus

Just want to get outside and fit in some fitness? Try The Active Trail, a 1.7 mile journey around campus connected by 5 workstations. Whether you want to work on your strength or are more into aerobic exercises, this course is designed for any full body workouts. 

Plus, it's completely free and available for everyone, all you need to do is show up and get active. 

No matter your favourite way to be active, there's somewhere for you to do it on campus.
